Shopping, anyone?

The manager at my Travel Agency alerted me that we need to acquire some luggage bags as gifts for our Commercially Important Passengers who are about to travel this week.

Untuk pengetahuan my 3 readers, itulah satu-satunya tugasan yang amat digemari oleh Managing Director ini!!!!!!

Maka berangkatlah saya ke One Utama Shopping Mall where my favourite luggage shop is located.

Guess what greeted me at the mall today?

kosong...

Kosong 'yang, tak percaya???

KOSONG, ILEK, takde orang.....

Akan tetapi ada satu store tu seolah-olah melambaiku datang. So, ku rembat ler beberapa helai baju kerana terdapat 5 orang salesgirls membantuku membuat pilihan.

.

Sorry, Dill, they don't have a single piece in your size there! :(
Finding an item in size 0 at Ms Read is like Pak Lah getting airticket for his entire Government entourage from my company instead of from his sis-in-law's!!!!:((

(pastu pulak, sempat nak bergossip ni, the blardy MAS Govt sales officer tu siap nak compare2 my sales performance dengan company tersebut, do you need a mathematical model to figure that out???......)

Err...did I say I was there to get luggage bags?!?

Back to the past.

I want a bunny rabbit for my birthday!!!
I want one with a lion head which looks like this:

I'm going to call him "Simba"!!!

Papa: Mama! You said you wanted a Lexus, I've ordered one and going to be delivered by today!

Tasya: I've gotten you a vintage Chanel handbag, can you forget about the bunny?

Dilla: Mama, a bunny bites, why can't you be happy with the white gold chain encrusted with diamond? Uncle Au from Tomei has packed one for you on my instructions...

Ikram: I've gotten a place at a prestigious Medical University, I thought you will be happy enough for that....

Imran: Since it's your special day, I've decided that you don't have to replace my i-pod touch which got stolen from my room during Kak Sya's wedding...

No,NO,No.....I want a bunny,
I want a bunny with a lion head,
and I'm going to call him "Simbha"!!!!!!!!

p/s: scripts in bold and italic above are merely my wishful thinking, and so is my Simba if I can't find one from a pet store this evening.....

Oh, by the way, I turn 52 today! :(

Saying GoodBye, for a while...

My first born is leaving me today to lead her very own life, with the husband, in a foreign land.
I hope their staying far away will be temporary and I shall treat it like they are on a huge holiday.

I found this poem today and it appears like it's incredibly been written especially for ME.

LETTING GO TAKES LOVE

To let go does not mean to stop caring,
it means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off,
it's the realization I can't control another.
To let go is not to enable,
but allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means
the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try to change or blame another,
it's to make the most of myself.
To let go is not to care for,
but to care about.
To let go is not to fix,
but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their destinies.
To let go is not to be protective,
it's to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny,
but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold or argue,
but instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in it.
To let go is not to criticize or regulate anybody,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more
Remember: The time to love is short

and at the reception

WE were about to give the wedding planner a pat on the back at the akad ceremony when they messed up the wedding reception big time!

lesson learnt: NEVER NEVER use the same wedding planner for all events of your wedding because they can't cope!

I'm just going to focus on the good and forget the ones they did not deliver...

Austerity Drive

Looks like we are heading straight into another recession.....

Sigh..

It's annoying to think that I can actually recollect the misery of previous recessions, it's cycle works like a clock! (one has to be a senior citizen in order to experience that!)

I went shopping for a niece's newborn yesterday, alas, that's about all I brought back in my shopping bag, didn't have the mood to spend, thinking that the economic situation could be worse in the near future.

Today, while driving on the way to the office, I decided to make life a little bit easier for my staff. I called for a brief morning meeting and declared that we are going to be temporarily closed on Saturdays. This move will hopefully save them some money due to the rising fuel costs besides the toll charges that they have to fork out everyday in order to come to work.. Saturdays being a 4hour working day is no longer viable for us to spend so much money to open for business.

Meanwhile I'm still not ready to give up my passion for the beautiful orchids in my garden.

This has just started blooming and it brought so much happiness to me for which every ringgit spent to procure it was worth it.

Goodies

I prepared these personalised wrapped chocolate bars to be given away to children during Tasya's wedding.

They were so easy to do yet could bring so much happiness to the recipient.

Luckily we had plenty, so, mothers too could pass off as sweet little girls and enjoy the lovely chocolates.

It's cheap but a marvellous idea, try it for any occasion.

Minna in my garden

During my daughter's Akad Nikah ceremony held at our house last month, we put up some Arabian Canopy for the guests seated at the garden.

Those canopy reminded me of the tents we had to stay in when in Minna during our Haj trip.

I recorded the picture from the balcony of my room, and remembered what a humbling experience it was during those days in Minna.....
