Wardrobe Malfunction

I was rather excited to balik kampong on Sunday to celebrate my mum's 75th birthday!

The night before, I was packing 4 sets of baju kurung I already made for her, actually for her to wear them on my daughter's wedding, but I am conveniently going to declare that those are for her birthday.

Imran had chosen this chocolate gift for his MakTok.

Dilla got ready an angpow packet too, with a sweet message from a sweet granddaughter!!

.

However, I woke up early in the morning to an ethnic drum beat, on the right side of my brain:

"Boom, bum, bum, boom, bum bum!!!!!! I could attach a statcounter to the rhythm!

I reached for papa's digital blood pressure monitor and it registered 144/94.

Determined to go ahead with the trip, I ran cold shower on my head and took a tablet of 'cafergot' (my anti-migraine medication).

Then, I started to throw up.

Papa and Imran asked if we should cancel the trip, but I insisted that I will be OK.

10 minutes into the journey, I used up all the airsick bags papa stored in his car. We decided to head towards a clinic instead.

Doctor asked some questions and I opted for a jab to stop the vomiting.

How long have you been getting this symptom of a cluster headache?

I wanted to tell him it has been there for as long as I can remember,

But I said 'I can't remember'

Doctor advised me to do a CT scan to ensure that it is not an 'arterio-venous malformation'

but I kept on wondering why the doctor diagnosed my head as a 'wardrobe malfunction'?!?...

Marbella and CheeHua

When my daughter's wedding fotographer came over for a visit last week, I coaxed her into doing a potraiture of the jewel of my eyes, for free!

In a second I heard her doing her : 'work it!', 'work it!'

and here's the lovely results.

My cats have simple needs, do not criticize and absolutely love me unconditionally!!!!!!!

The Aftermath of the aftermath

.

10/03/2008
KUALA LUMPUR (Thomson Financial) - Trading on the Malaysian stock market has suspended for an hour after the key Kuala Lumpur Composite Index hit a 10 percent limit-down, a Bursa Malaysia official said Monday.'The trading halt is from 2.58 pm to 3.58 pm,' she said.

I became a statistic as one of the fallen bursa warriors today.

Depressing State of Affairs

If you currently reside in Malaysia, unless you have been meditating in a cave somewhere, you simply can't escape from the heat of the run up to the General Election, to be held on 8 March 2008.

view from my car window

Boy oh boy, I've been reading a lot of views written around the blog and can't help it but to feel soooo depressed.

2 more days to the ballot box, I hope I won't be responsible for electing an irresponsible Government!!!!

I wish I can lead a life like Bella, my bestest buddy. There's no worries in your world, sweetheart!

Not my little boy anymore.....

.

My 'official' work in the office starts at 9am, but of course I can even turn up at 2pm or do not turn up at all, feigning busy with the wedding planner etc...provided my handphone is switched on in case the staff need decisions from the boss at any time of the day.....

However, I do wake up early every morning to ensure that the boys have proper breakfast and to do a mental checklist of their day's activity. What time they are expected home, their co-curricular activities, homework/project papers done, are they ready for exam/tests/quizzes if there's any for the day so on and so forth......It's part of my CEO jobs, you see.

This morning Ikram put on a black long-sleeved shirt and asked for my 'professional' opinion whether he should roll the sleeves up or button the sleeves down. I noticed he had the lab coat in one hand and suggested that he should roll the sleeves up to remain comfortable in the science laboratory. He was struggling with the task, using his right hand to flip the end of the left sleeve up...

mama: Here, let me help you...
and just like any other smothering mommy who loves to volunteer unsolicited advices:
You know Ikram, when you put on black shirt such as this, you have to be careful with your dandruff showing on the shoulder...

Ikram: Mama, I know!!!, besides, I DON'T have dandruff!!!!Although you still help to fold up my sleeves, I'm not your little boy anymore!!!..

mama:Ooouuwww...sorry...say what you like, to me you are still my little boy!

Ikram salam and kissed my hand before going to college with papa, at the front door, papa gave a peck on both cheeks and assured me:
'you are still my little wife'!!

So sweet, what will my self esteem be without you!
