Wedding Favour, 101

Orang Tanjung kata 'memang saja nak cari pasai'

Orang K.Pilah akan kata 'Tak do korjo carik korjo'

I can actually choose to be lazy by just purchasing these already beautiful mengkuang boxes with songket cover from 'Noor Arfah', as a gift to guests on my daughter's wedding reception....

.

However, I thought I could try my hand at decorating them boxes by getting these mini flowers done by the dipping method.

.

But perhaps they are not pretty enough, so, I added a diamante in the middle of each flower, to make them appear a little bit glittery,

.

And attach the bunch at one corner of the songket box!

.

Got the approval of the sleepy but stern-looking QC Supervisor:

.

another 850 pcs more to be done......ZZzzzzzzzzz.....

.

Ready to be filled up with potpouri and an easter egg-sized chocolate each, made by 'Fidani'.

Selfless Indulgence

Whilst busy with daughter's wedding preparations, we still remember to celebrate our own which took place 28 years ago, today.

Happy anniversary, papa!

Because I have been a very kind, loving, devoted and generous partner, I demand a gift to remind me that I have charted the 28th milestone living with you!

I could imagine papa broke into sweat and convulsion, ni mesti kena belikan the 7series that she has been hinting on, or an upgrade to the sizzling stone on her finger...........mati den!

No lah papa, I told you that I am kind.

Instead I settled for a trip to an orchid exporter farm in Kg. Subang and made papa pay for this real beauty from Papua New Guinea!

And, oh, since we were already there, you might as well pay for these too, thank you very much, darling!!!!!!!

The Rain is Pouring.....

It's been raining so heavily these last few days that the free use of water for the first 20 cubic metre for residents in Selangor under the new PKR government may render insignificant!

Hope the wet weather will not continue until May as I have a wedding to host!

The immediate catastrophe is that there had been a landslide at my piece of land in Kg. Sg. Penchala.

I've just returned from inspecting the site, with a group of nearby owners of HUGE bungalows and villas individually built around the hills, consisting mostly of successful senior citizens determined to enjoy their golden years in the tranquil of kampong atmosphere amidst the city.
Kg. Sg. Penchala is smack in the middle of Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Mutiara Damansara and the Damansara Country Heights.

My land on top of the hill is no more!

Chunks of boulders and earth had rolled down the slope, bringing along the bigger section of my neighbour's villa, collapsing and burying them into their lake.

Pictured above is my neighbour's workers trying to divert the flow of water into a nearby ravine, which is a futile exercise, as more water is expected from the dark and angry cloud above.

What is left of my antique Durian tree landed on the Dato's garden, somersaulting with its root pointing up to the sky!!!

Hope the Dato' and Datin will not sue me over this act of God.
